Portfolio Demand & Planning Lead

Join us as a Portfolio Demand & Planning Lead and play a pivotal role in shaping how change is planned, prioritised and delivered across a major Delivery Squad. This is an opportunity to combine strategic thinking, scenario modelling and stakeholder influence to drive better outcomes, while helping to establish planning as a recognised professional discipline within Change Delivery. Working in a flexible, collaborative environment, you'll have the autonomy to influence decision-making, improve delivery confidence and contribute to the evolution of enterprise-wide planning practices.

About the role

As a Portfolio Demand & Planning Lead, you will lead planning activities for an assigned Delivery Squad, ensuring plans, roadmaps and priorities are aligned to deliver maximum value and transparency.

  • Own and maintain a high-quality 15month Delivery Squad roadmap, providing clear visibility of milestones, outcomes, dependencies and future demand.

  • Lead planning cycles, scenario modelling and decision support, helping leaders understand delivery trade-offs, sequencing options and capacity impacts.

  • Drive planning excellence by embedding standards, challenging plans constructively and proactively managing dependencies, risks and constraints across initiatives.

About you

We're looking for an experienced planning professional who can translate complexity into clear insight, influence stakeholders at all levels and drive better decision-making through effective planning practices.

  • Strong experience in portfolio, programme or complex delivery planning, including dependency management, sequencing and roadmap development.

  • Proven ability to perform scenario modelling, generate planning insights and support leadership decision-making within a governed change environment.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience embedding planning standards, influencing without authority and using planning tools and data visualisation to improve outcomes.

Our commitments to Community and Charity

Ever since we started back in 1864, we’ve had a clear purpose – to do some good in our communities through helping people keep their savings safe. And helping everyone have a place to call home. Today, that purpose is still a huge part of who we are. And every one of our colleagues helps that happen.

We’re committed to volunteering our time, resources, skills and knowledge – more than 50% of colleagues contribute to thousands of volunteer hours every year. And our Charitable Foundation has now donated over £9 million to charities and good causes across the country.
