We are thrilled to announce an incredible opportunity for a Network Engineer to join our Technology Infrastructure Platform and Networks team. In this role, you'll provide technical expertise to deliver and maintain compliant and performant network data and security services across YBS.
This is a hybrid role; remote working and a small amount of onsite presence in our Bradford office.
There is also a requirement for on call (usually 1 in every 8 weeks) & adhoc out of hours working.
There is the possibility of needing to attend site out of hours in an emergency when on-call, so candidates should ideally be within an hour of Yorkshire Drive office in Bradford.
About the role
As Network Engineer, you’ll provide daily support of incidents and change requests within the Network Service Data Team. You will -
Be responsible for the installation, configuration and support of Production, Non-Production and Disaster Recovery Networking infrastructures
Work on other tasks that will include design, documentation and subsequent installation, configuration and support of infrastructure required to sustain the various phases of Network implementation, from development through to live transition and support
Employ modern engineering practices - including SoftwareDefined Networking (SDN), automation and orchestration, InfrastructureasCode (IaC), and advanced observability to deliver resilient, secure and scalable services
About you
What will you bring to the role?
A passion for learning new technologies and how to deliver value from them in an Enterprise environment
Experience designing, implementing and supporting LAN/ WAN networks
A good understanding of Internet Protocol (IP) networks & a proven track record in implementing security techniques around Internet facing services
DNS and DHCP in Windows/ Unix and Internet environment experience
Understanding of vulnerability assessment/ penetration testing
Knowledge of underlying network protocols such as OSPF, BGP and Spanning-Tree to a minimum of CCNA standard or equivalent
Excellent Security/ Network problem diagnosis and resolution skills
Desirable skills include - security/ firewall experience including Cisco FTD’s and Check Point, Cisco wireless and Cisco Secure Access, F5 application delivery controller experience, Cisco ACI and Cisco hybrid ZTNA, & experience of scripting and Infrastructure as Code
