Are you an IT professional with a proven track record in Oracle database administration at an enterprise level? If so, we may have the role for you! We have an exciting opportunity for a DBA (internally known as Database Engineer) to join our team.
You’ll provide Database Engineering support for YBS databases and relevant systems and infrastructure, whilst providing consultancy to the wider organisation on implementation of relevant technologies.
This is a hybrid role, with a mix of working from home and time in the office. You'll provide 24x365 on-call support, as part of a rota, for databases and the associated database technology stack across all development, testing and production environments.
About the role
In this Database Engineer role, you will -
Provide Database Administration Services for organization-wide, business-critical databases residing both on the cloud and in YBS data centres
Provide 24x365 on-call support, as part of a rota, for databases and the associated database technology stack across all development, testing and production environments
Develop, maintain and deliver effective Group wide capacity management, performance monitoring and tuning services for databases and the associated technology stack
Provide consultancy services to other YBS teams in relation to YBS Group databases and associated technologies
About you
You’ll be an IT professional with a proven track record in Oracle database administration at an enterprise level. You’ll be a keen learner, eager to embrace new technologies and quick to learn existing infrastructure and related applications.
What will you bring to the role?
Detailed technical knowledge of backup and recovery technologies
Advanced knowledge of database replication, clustering, monitoring and backup/ recovery, RMAN, Dataguard, GoldenGate and RAC
Knowledge of SQL performance tuning
OCI Oracle Cloud knowledge would be beneficial
Experience with DevOps, virtualisation, automation and associated tooling
Knowledge of scripting and development would be beneficial
