As our new Senior Manager Data Platforms, you’ll deliver and ensure the effective operation of data platforms, technologies, associated services, and ways of working through defining and driving the data platform strategy to enable the effective use of data across YBS. You’ll oversee the design and architecture of scalable, secure, and reliable data platforms through the adoption of best practices inclusive of key areas. You’ll join a likeminded team in Technology Services, the team currently work flexibly/hybrid across Bradford, Leeds and remotely.
About the role
You’ll be responsible for the leadership of the Data Platforms team and fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture.
Ensure effective run services and delivery of change and transformation across all data platforms for YBS.
Monitor and optimize organisational data platform spending to ensure cost-effective use of resources.
Be accountable for providing effective leadership and management of the Data Platforms area.
Develop operational management of data environments and security ensuring the integrity of business, colleague, and customer services data.
Account for the oversight of efficient and effective production and non-production services establishing and monitor KPIs across platform availability, performance, reliability, and efficiency.
Provide assurance and risk management of the Data Platform /services estate.
Strategically manager relationships with key stakeholders and third-party suppliers to ensure the successful delivery of operational services.
Be responsible for vulnerability remediation across Data Platforms, technologies, and solutions.
About you
You’ll have strong knowledge of business applications, services and associated data platforms, technologies, and associated services.
Thorough understanding of the principles and theory relating to vulnerability management, backup/recovery and job scheduling.
Strong knowledge of internet, cloud and cyber security design principles and technologies.
Proven people management skills including recruitment, development, coaching and mentoring.
Strategic influencing and understanding of IT strategies in relation to Data and associated technologies.
You’ll have the ability to develop and maintain effective customer relationships including collaboration, communication and facilitation skills.
Experience of the technologies you will support include:
Experience of managing Oracle Database and associated middleware (including Goldengate and SOA)
Experience of managing Microsoft SQL Server
Experience of Business Objects and BODS / BODI.
Knowledge of Azure Fabric, OneLake and Data Factory.
Knowledge of Oracle Ebusiness Suite, Hyperion and Human Capital Management.
An understanding of both data warehousing and data lakehouse best practice and principles.
