Senior Internal Auditor

A new opportunity has arisen for a Senior Auditor to join our Internal Audit function.

About the role

As a Senior Auditor, you’ll play a key role in the delivery of timely and cost-efficient audit work in line with Internal Audit’s methodology. You’ll be exposed to all elements of the audit process. This will include taking responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of audits or supporting our Audit Managers to shape and deliver more complex audits. You’ll constantly be exposed to new areas and a breadth of work. We are particularly keen to hear from individuals with finance or change risk experience, although this is not essential.Responsibilities:

• Undertake the delivery of audits laid out in the Audit Plan, to provide adequate assurance over the key risks within the scope of the audit.

• Take ownership for elements of complex audits as determined by the Audit Manager and/or Senior Manager.

• Monitor changes in the Society’s business activities, using such insight to inform the audit universe and continuous risk assessment process.

• Provide timely and robust subject matter expertise and insights on areas of specialism, to team members as required, and as an input to the periodic audit planning process.

• Working innovatively with colleagues across Internal Audit to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the function.

• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage time and resources to enable the successful and timely delivery of reviews.

• Evidence of leading reviews and/or contributing to the delivery of complex reviews, including drafting of working papers and audit reports.

• Good understanding of the core concepts of internal auditing or risk management.

• The ability to build strong relationship with key stakeholders both internally and externally.

• A continuous improvement mind set, curiosity and the ability to challenge effectively when needed.
