IT & Digital Category Manager

Are you a strategic procurement professional with strong technology category experience? Do you have the commercial expertise to shape strategic technology partnerships and deliver real business value?

We're looking for an experienced IT & Digital Category Manager to join our Supply Chain team. You'll lead procurement and category strategies across a diverse technology portfolio, helping us maximise value from our suppliers, manage risk effectively and support the delivery of our strategic priorities.

This is a hybrid role; remote working and some onsite presence in our central Leeds or Bradford offices (approx. 8 days per month).

About the role

As IT & Digital Category Manager, you will act as the commercial and procurement SME for Technology, working with stakeholders across the Society to develop sourcing strategies, manage key supplier relationships and drive commercial outcomes. You’ll -

  • Lead category strategies across software, hardware, networks, cloud and outsourced technology services

  • Deliver commercial value through sourcing, negotiations and supplier optimisation activities.

  • Provide expert support on contracts, supplier risk, performance management and procurement activity

  • Partner with Technology, Legal and business stakeholders to manage supplier relationships and commercial risk

  • Drive continuous improvement and identify opportunities to enhance service, reduce costs and improve value

About you

You'll be a strategic procurement professional with strong technology category experience and an ability to build trusted relationships across a complex organisation. You’ll bring -

  • Proven experience in Technology sourcing, procurement and category management

  • Strong knowledge of software, hardware, networking, cloud and outsourcing agreements

  • Experience negotiating complex supplier contracts and delivering commercial benefits

  • Knowledge of supplier risk and regulatory requirements within Financial Services

  • Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills

  • MCIPS qualification

  • Desirable skills include - Lean Six Sigma or change management experience, Prince2 and/ or ITIL certification, experience of Source-to-Pay (S2P) platforms
