Insights Developer

As our next BIS Insights Developer you’ll design and develop data solutions to unlock the data and insights necessary to support the continued transformation of YBS into a modern, digitally enabled company through value driven Insights. You’ll join a likeminded team in our Bradford and Leeds based team, with working from home capability.

About the role

• Design and develop BI solutions ensuring they are reliable, scalable, flexible, low maintenance and provide the key insights to the right people at the right time

• Design and build of BI solutions in line with BI lifecycle, following a defined governed process from data mapping to data modelling through to data source creation

• Work closely with our internal customers across a broad range of teams to gather full requirements to effectively plan and deliver value add BI solutions

• Develop, maintain or amend the semantic layer and/ or data marts required for reporting/ insight purposes, including the use of data virtualisation tools where appropriate

• Collaborate with colleagues, across Data, IT and other business areas to understand and resolve problems within the Business Intelligence architecture

• Effectively gather and analyse business and data requirements for value driven insight solutions, ensuring detailed documentation of requirements and a clear sign off process

• Design and deliver technical solutions built and presented in YBS BI and Analytics Tools - Tableau, SAP Business Objects, SQL

About you

You’ll have strong technical skills coupled with the ability to build strong working relationships across different business functions advising on the right BI solutions. You will have -

• Hands on experience of capturing business & data requirements

• Strong stakeholder management skills with an engaging customer facing approach

• Good understanding of visualization and working knowledge of how businesses use BI technologies i.e. Tableau, Power BI, Business Objects to access Data that has been created for them

• Development experience in developing solutions in Tableau, SAP Business Objects BI Suite, SQL, SAS or other likened and associated technical BI and modelling Technologies

• Proven experience of working with Data Provisioning, Architecture and Transformation Teams

• Working knowledge of Data Modelling (preferably dimensional modelling), Universe Design (IDT) and Data Warehousing structures

• Highly effective analytical and technical problem-solving capabilities
