We have an exciting opportunity for an AML Specialist to join our Financial Crime team at YBS.
Our friendly and collaborative team plays a vital role in protecting both the Society and our members from financial crime. In this role, you'll use your expertise to provide robust analysis and insight, helping to shape strategic priorities while ensuring we meet our regulatory and statutory obligations. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you'll contribute to maintaining a strong financial crime framework and supporting YBS in managing financial crime risk effectively.
About the role
As an AML Specialist it’s about following operating procedures, making sure that the decisions we make are aligned with our risk appetite and the current economic situation, and providing specialist technical advice across our business. In this role you’ll be responsible for:
- Completing enhanced due diligence checks on high risk customers and investigating any suspicious activity.
- Supporting implementation plans throughout the AML Team
- Working to agreed quality targets and service level agreements while focusing on delivering an exceptional service
About you
We're looking for an experienced AML Specialist with a background in investigating suspicious activity and a solid understanding of financial crime and AML regulations. An ICA Advanced AML Certificate, or an equivalent professional qualification, would be advantageous, but above all, we're seeking someone who is committed to continuously developing their expertise in this ever-evolving field.
You'll be confident making informed decisions, with excellent communication and relationship-building skills that enable you to collaborate effectively with colleagues across all levels of the organisation.
Previous experience managing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and conducting Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) is important for this role.
