We have an exciting opportunity to join the Society's Social Purpose and Sustainability team as Social Purpose and Sustainability Manager.

You'll play a key part in shaping the future Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) strategy at YBS, joining at a pivotal time as we create a new Board level committee.

You will join a purpose-led organisation within the Social Purpose and Sustainability team. The team oversee the YBS ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) strategy, built around our Purpose, and manage our community investment activity.

About the role

In this role you will work cross functionally to influence ambition levels, policies, processes and practices to drive continuous improvement, and manage ESG reporting and communications, measures and disclosures.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Social Purpose & Sustainability, your key accountabilities will include:

  • Enhancing our existing ESG reporting, including preparing for increased disclosures and assurance
  • Tracking progress on ESG measures and working to further shape our ambition and progress our ESG strategy
  • Working with the ESG Committee, strategy and senior leaders to embed ESG within the organisation and drive progress against our ESG ambitions
  • Continuously monitoring best practice and trends in ESG and sustainability, specifically ESG reporting, disclosure legislation and upcoming regulation, ensuring YBS remains compliant, transparent and in line with industry expectations
  • Conducting stakeholder research, including materiality assessments, to shape the ESG strategy in line with growing stakeholder expectations

About you

You’ll bring:

  • Energy, excitement and enthusiasm, with the passion and drive to make a difference
  • At least three to five years’ experience in ESG/ sustainability from within any sector
  • Knowledge of best practice and trends within the sustainability space
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to represent the SP&S team effectively at all levels of the business, including senior management
  • Strong organisational abilities with capacity to work on multiple projects simultaneously
