Strategic Sourcing Manager - Supply Chain Management

About the role

Strategic category and sourcing are key for YBS as it underpins our ability to drive value, manage risks and deliver excellent customer service. As we are a mutual organisation, we have customer values at our heart; ensuring we deliver real help with real lives.

As a sourcing professional, experienced in this area, you will be responsible for leading strategic sourcing projects inline with YBS strategy and category plans, to achieve strong outcomes and deliver commercial benefits. You’ll provide specialist, sourcing management and commercial expertise. Ensuring delivery of strategic sourcing activity to a high standard, including interfaces into Supply Chain and Legal ensuring adherence to all relevant policies, applicable laws, and regulatory requirements.

About you

To be successful in this role, it is vital that you are an established sourcing professional. You must have knowledge of Category strategies, play books and insight decks with demonstrable negotiations and sourcing experience, it is also preferable that you have worked in a financial services environment. We will consider applications from applicants with sourcing skills and experience from similar industries.

The successful applicant will have the ability to strongly influence a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders, with proven relevant skills and the capability to face into what can be a challenging and difficult conversations. Good analytical skills and the ability to interpret management information and data are essential in this role.

A Financial Services background would be useful, with experience of the regulations surrounding the management and requirements of sourcing activity. However, this is not essential if a candidate can display the above capabilities.
