Software Development Engineer - Lending

YBS have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Software Development Engineer to join our Lending Engineering team in our Change Delivery function. You'll join a team focused on delivering change to maintain and improve our mortgage propositions as well as supporting the strategic direction of the Group. You’ll design, build, implement and support our core systems and integrations which are used for the origination and servicing of our mortgages in an evolving environment.

We are looking for experienced developers with strong technical skills and a keen desire to learn and use their expertise to support, develop and implement technical changes to the applications used by or core Lending Business.

As a Software Development Engineer you will-

• Develop and document software and configuration ensuring they adhere to development standards and meet requirements. You’ll be technically competent and experienced in applicable technologies and platforms.

• Maintain systems by analysing programs to diagnose and resolve defects

• Participate in peer reviews of documentation, code, unit and integration testing

• Collaborate with architects and analysts to transform business requirements into technical change

• Perform impact analysis on requirements and designs.

• Continually update technical knowledge and skills using internal training as well taking time to self-develop utilising external sources

• Work collaboratively as part of a support/delivery team, supporting and mentoring colleagues

About You-

• You will have excellent knowledge and experience of one or more of the core technologies which form the Groups Lending landscape JAVA, Cobol, C#, .NET, PL/SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, SOA

• Demonstrable experience within a modern software engineering role.

• Excellent knowledge of software design patterns and software architectural patterns

Desirable skills include:

• Experience of working within Financial Services
• Ability to interpret complex information to develop business outcomes and present back in an easy and simple manner
• Experience of working within IT support environments
