We are looking for a Business Analyst, on a 12 month fixed term contract, with the drive, passion and experience to join our Business Change team and be part of this exciting transformation journey.

For this role you will work with a team of Business Analysts in order to define requirements on one of our large programmes of work. This is a highly collaborative role working with both Technology teams (Architecture, Engineering and Test) as well as Product teams and wider business stakeholders (including 3rd parties).

This is a hybrid role; remote working and some onsite presence in our central Leeds and/ or Bradford offices.


About the role


As our next Business Analyst, you’ll be involved across all stages of our change framework; from helping to influence strategic change initiatives through to definition and delivery. You’ll have the opportunity to be part of our Business Analysis Centre of Excellence within the Society’s Business Change team, as well as work as part of a team in support of delivery of our Strategy. You will


  • Facilitate discussions or workshops with the purpose of eliciting and understanding stakeholder needs

  • Provide a clear definition & root cause of problem(s) to be addressed, the business drivers and wider context, setting scope that ensures problem(s) are addressed

  • Plan and undertake business analysis activity using a range of appropriate tools and techniques considering the impact on people, processes, data and technology

  • Define and document business requirements with clear traceability through functional and process specifications, acceptance testing and implementation

  • Perform detailed as-is and to-be business process analysis & modelling

  • Work closely with cross-functional development teams to determine dependencies, support business acceptance & implementation of the required business changes


About you


You’ll have a keen interest in technology and working with technology teams to define and build digital and /or technical solutions. What will you bring to the role?


  • Good stakeholder management skills with excellent collaboration, communication and facilitation skills

  • Ability to drive decision making, resolve conflicts and determine priorities within a business analysis context

  • Comfortable to work independently as part of a hybrid, matrix-style project team

  • Excellent analytical and lateral thinking skills with proven experience of managing ambiguity

  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail

  • A growth mindset, willingness to learn new skills and develop professionally

  • Knowledge of User Centric Design would be highly desirable
