As our new Senior Manager IT Operations, you'll oversee operational oversight of all YBS IT systems and services ensuring robust configuration, implementation, maintenance and ongoing 24*7 monitoring. You’ll be responsible for planning, coordination and direction of IT services and solutions that enable operational activities for all IT services and applications that combine to serve YBS customers. You’ll be responsible for the establishment of an effective Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery Framework to enable YBS to continue operations and serve its customers in the event of a major incident/crisis. You’ll join a likeminded team in Technology Services, the team currently work flexibly/hybrid across Bradford, Leeds and remotely.
About the role
You’ll be responsible for the leadership of the IT Service & Operations team. You’ll develop a collaborative and innovative team culture. You’ll deliver excellent leadership throughout the delivery of operational services and associated change across YBS, engaging with key stakeholders and leading improvements to transform. YBS leaders are expected to have an exemplar focus on people, cost, and risk. You’ll have strong leadership capabilities in service management and incident and crisis management with the ability to innovate and drive strong operational outcomes in a digital environment.
You’ll ensure effective operation of all IT services, applications, technology and data to serve YBS customers and colleagues.
Be accountable for Incident & Crisis Management and the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Framework, standards, policies, processes, controls for all IT services and colleagues.
Provide effective leadership and management of the IT Services & Operations team and critical third-party providers.
Effectively lead and manage incidents, problems, and service requests in line with agreed recovery time, SLAs and Risk Appetite measures.
Be accountable for the management of IT assets including development and operation of the CMDB (Configuration Management Database) in line with regulatory and external audit requirements.
Ensure the capacity and performance of the Society’s infrastructure and services managed in line with Key Risk Indicators and Risk Appetite measures.
Be accountable for the assurance and risk management of the IT Services Estate.
Strategically manage relationships with key stakeholders and third-party suppliers to ensure the successful deliver of operational services.
Ensure control frameworks are developed in line with risk appetite and provide effective assurance and resilience of our IT services. Including documentation and testing of the team’s Disaster Recovery (DR) procedures in line with the Society’s Business Continuity requirements.
Oversee the governance of operational change management inclusive of standards and control processes for route to live and production services.
Sets and define the control framework, standards, rules and monitor adherence of Operational IT environments.
About you
You’ll have strong experience of IT Services and Operations and delivery to IT SLAs, OLAs and KPI’s.
Deep knowledge of IT Service best practices, ITSM tooling and processes.
Strong understanding of the principles and theory relating to all IT Service Operations.
Thorough knowledge of asset and configuration management practices, technologies, tools and techniques.
Good knowledge of internet, cloud and cyber security design principles and technologies.
Proven people management skills including recruitment, development, coaching and mentoring.
Strategic influencing and understanding of IT strategies in relation to IT Operations technologies and information risk management, regulatory governance and control.
