We are thrilled to announce an incredible fixed term contract opportunity for a Senior Manager Cost and Investment to join our Finance team. In this role, you will ensure YBS’ financial sustainability by pro-actively leading the management of the Society’s BAU and investment cost base.

This is a hybrid role; remote working and some weekly onsite presence in our central Leeds office.

This is a 12 month fixed term contract.


About the role


As Senior Manager Cost and Investment, you’ll business partner to support all functions with cost related activities, providing robust analytics, challenge and maintenance of robust control frameworks. You will -


  • In delivering the functional services relating to cost and investment, you’ll be accountable for and oversee the effective execution of the following - finance controls and mandates, management reporting, external audit liaison where appropriate, decision support, finance advisory and awareness, technical queries relating to cost management

  • Provide day to day support and accounting for Pension related costs

  • Lead the management of functional costs and forecasting within the Finance function

  • Manage, coach and develop a high performing team of finance professionals, identifying skills gaps and training solutions for career progression and succession planning

  • Support the establishment and delivery of the financial strategy, management, statutory and regulatory reporting and governance framework and controls for the organisation

  • Support the leadership of Finance, providing leadership across the function and the development and review of strategic and tactical priorities for Finance


About you


What will you bring to the role?


  • Accounting qualification (CIMA/ ACCA/ ACA) or equivalent

  • Senior level experience in leading a finance team to deliver high quality and compliant financial management and reporting mechanisms

  • Senior level experience in financial control and cost & efficiency management

  • Rigorous, methodical and well organised approach with excellent attention to detail and ability to deliver to deadline

  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to demonstrate your credibility quickly

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to converse effectively and develop strong working relationships with senior stakeholders
