About the role

In this role, your work will play a key role in the way financial sustainability and credit risk is managed. You’ll do this by supporting and working on model development, management and testing of the Society’s models. In addition, there will be opportunities to collaborate with pricing and new propositions to support stakeholders across YBS.

This role will primarily focus on IFRS 9 and Lifetime Expected Loss Modelling whilst also having exposure to the wider team’s IRB, Stress Testing, Climate Risk, Credit Risk Scorecards among other models.

Day to day delivery can range from data extraction, producing accurate analytics and using modelling techniques on model developments or for challenger models as well as presenting findings and insights to the team and stakeholders to inform decision-making.

You’ll analyse Residential, Buy-to-Let and Commercial data and review and challenge approaches, ensuring controls and models remain robust and accurate.

We work on a hybrid basis, with a degree of travel to the office. We are also happy to discuss flexible working arrangements.

About you

• Experience of IRB, IFRS9, Scorecards or Credit Risk Modelling.
• Skilled in data manipulation, SAS (or similar software) and Microsoft software.
• Knowledge of modelling requirements and an understanding of the requirements of the regulations relating to model development would be beneficial.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• A good awareness of the Financial Services industry and associated regulatory landscapes.
• Continuous improvement mindset and always looking for ways to improve yourself and YBS.
