We are seeking a technical expert in Risk Management to operate within the first line of defence, specifically focusing on our Commercial Division. This role is crucial in building risk management capability, in collaboration with a project team who are delivering a risk management system for the whole organisation.
About the Role:
As our next Risk & Control specialist you will be responsible for performing control testing activities and will support, guide and develop business areas on risk and control-related matters and improvements. Other role responsibilities include:
- Building Risk Management Capability: Through the delivery of change, you will lead out process improvement aligned to the key deliverables of the Governance, Risk and Control Project.
- Perform Independent Control Testing: You will Evaluate the effectiveness of our control environment through systematic and independent testing.
- Build, produce and deliver training: Collaborating with the Project team to build risk management capability across the Commercial Division, through effective training material.
About You:
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Expertise in Risk Areas: You should have experience and expertise in working within a Conduct Risk function, within a Financial Services environment. Experience in Operational Risk would be desired.
- Independent Control Testing: You should be capable of performing controls testing independently, including tests of design, implementation, and operating effectiveness. Experience in other Lines (e.g., Third Line or Second Line) or within a previous First Line role is valuable.
- Understanding of Risk Management: A good understanding of risk management concepts and control measures within a financial services environment is essential.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Experience working with stakeholders, including up to Senior Manager level, is important for effective collaboration and communication.
- Flexibility and Multitasking: Ability to be flexible and manage multiple pieces of work concurrently, ensuring timely and effective completion of tasks.
