We have an exciting opportunity for a Prudential Risk Oversight Manager to join our 2nd line Prudential Risk team at our head office in Leeds. You will develop and lead a driven team of up to 7 colleagues to work closely with all 3 lines of defence to help support the Society grow in a purposeful and sustainable manner.

About the Role

This is a diverse role where you would be required to lead a team of subject matter experts in Balance Sheet Management and Credit risk to assess Prudential Risks holistically across the Society to produce written reports on risk management effectiveness for Senior Management, the Board, and the PRA. In this role, you would be responsible for:

  • Leading the development of a single Prudential Risk Oversight plan.

  • Ensuring all planned thematic reports are delivered on time and to a high standard, which clearly identify risks and raise purposeful and effective actions.

  • Developing the review process and controls to ensure all activity is robust, auditable and complies with the Group wide methodology.

  • Managing and developing the Prudential Risk Oversight team members.

  • Co-ordinating the risk horizon scanning process to ensure emerging risks are identified, assessed, and monitored.

About You

We would ideally like this person to have broad experience across Balance Sheet Management, or in at least one of the following risk areas: Market Risk, Funding & Liquidity Risk, Credit Risk or Capital Risk.

You will have a good understanding of risk management and experience in leading small specialist teams within the banking industry to conduct audit or 2nd line reviews.

You will be joining a driven team therefore we are looking for a People Leader who can lead, develop, and motivate colleagues to continually reach for better.

This role involves working with senior colleagues (up to chief level) across all three lines of defence, so this person must have strong stakeholder management skills and be able to engage and influence colleagues at all levels.
