At YBS Studio, we believe great creative can spark change. And we’re building a team that’s ready to do just that. If you love bringing ideas to life through design, storytelling, animation, or video you’ll feel right at home with us.
We’re a newly reinvented inhouse studio with big ambition. This is our moment to show what an inhouse team can really do: bold thinking, smart craft and work that makes a real difference to real people.
We mix the best bits of agency life with the purpose and focus of working inhouse. Energy without the ego. Creativity without the chaos. A place where you can do work, you’re proud of, with likeminded people.
As part of the expansion to the in house studio, we’re launching two brandnew Content Creator roles, offering a rare opportunity to help shape our content from the ground up. These roles are ideal for creative selfstarters who want the freedom to experiment, bring ideas to life endtoend, and truly make the role their own while having a real impact on how our brand is seen and experienced.
This is a hybrid opportunity, you would be required to be on site in Leeds 2 times per week. There will also be a requirement to travel to our other sites and branches in the UK.
About the Role
This role is focused on capturing and telling the human stories behind YBS’ culture, brand and leadership through highquality, authentic video content. It’s a highly visible, handson role that will suit someone who enjoys being out in the business, working flexibly, and bringing stories to life wherever they happen.
This is a highly varied role with briefs coming from all areas of the business, so you’ll need to be comfortable creating a wide range of content. One day you may be producing brandled storytelling or internal messages that communicate our purpose; the next, covering major moments like our AGM or supporting crossbusiness campaigns. You’ll lead endtoend video production, shaping concepts, filming on location and editing final assets with regular travel across our head offices, branches and event locations. You’ll also scout realworld settings that add authenticity to our storytelling, adapting your approach to different environments and audiences.
You’ll get strong exposure to senior stakeholders across the business, regularly filming with members of our Executive Committee and leaders from key functions. You’ll need to be confident engaging with senior colleagues, helping them feel at ease on camera while translating strategic, cultural and brand messages into engaging, human stories that feel credible and true to life.
You’ll help raise the bar for inhouse video production at YBS by delivering highquality work across varied briefs, bringing fresh ideas, and contributing to the overall creative direction alongside our Creative Lead. By championing creative quality, applying brand guidelines, making confident creative decisions and refining content based on insight and feedback, you’ll play a key role in modernising how we tell our story and reducing our reliance on external production.
About You
- Experience of end to end content creating including planning, script writing, filming and editing video content, often on location and in fastmoving environments.
- Expertise in colour grading, sound mixing and after effects or motion graphics experience.
- Experience in preproduction logistics, equipment preparation and comfortable location scouting (when needed to film outside of branch and had office) and equipment preparation.
- Comfortable adapting content to different channels and devices.
- A highly selfmotivated approach, with the ability to work independently, manage open briefs and adapt to changing filming schedules.
- Experience working in a regulated environment with compliance is a plus.
Please note, if you’re invited to interview, we’ll ask to see a small portfolio or a few examples of your work.

You’ll find people from all walks of life here, with different cultures, beliefs, ages, outlooks and more. And we’re proud of our differences. So we’re dedicated to creating a workplace where everyone feels welcome, supported, and empowered to be their whole self at work.
Our five Colleague Networks play an important role in helping that happen – and have a real impact on our everyday working life here. Each is closely linked to our Inclusion and Diversity committee, and sponsored by a member of our Senior Leadership Team.
And we also have other colleague groups, such as ManKind and Family Foundations, where colleagues can connect, and start conversations that can be taken into the Networks.
Community and Charity
Ever since we started back in 1864, we’ve had a clear purpose – to do some good in our communities through helping people keep their savings safe. And helping everyone have a place to call home. Today, that purpose is still a huge part of who we are. And every one of our colleagues helps that happen.
We’re committed to volunteering our time, resources, skills and knowledge – more than 50% of colleagues contribute to thousands of volunteer hours every year. And our Charitable Foundation has now donated over £9 million to charities and good causes across the country.
Our ways of working and flexibility
We know there’s no single right way of working that fits everyone. That’s why we’re not trying to find one. Instead, we’re doing everything we can to make sure that when we’re working flexibly, together and apart, we’re working at our best. We help our colleagues get the most out of work, and take care of themselves, wherever they’re working.
We offer a range of flexible working options without unsocial hours, which can help you find a healthy work-life balance. Whether it’s finishing early for an appointment or fitting your studies and hobbies in around your working hours, we can help make it work for you. We’re happy to talk flexible working and you can reach out to us anytime during the recruitment process to discuss this.

I joined the Society in 2017, and throughout that time I have worked in several departments, learning and growing along the way. However, it wasn't until April 2022 that I finally discovered my passion, which is recruitment.
In my current role with the Resourcing & Inclusion team, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with many amazing teams across the business. I absolutely love helping hiring managers find their perfect candidates, and it's equally rewarding to assist candidates in landing their dream jobs.
