We’re looking for a Treasury Credit Risk Analyst to join our Leeds based Finance Division. As one of our Treasury Credit Risk Analysts you’ll play a key role in managing our Wholesale Credit Risk exposure relating to the Treasury activity of the Society. You’ll get the opportunity to learn how a Treasury function operates as well as building economic, financial industry and banking knowledge. You’ll be part of an exciting team in our Broad Gate based Treasury office, reporting to the Group Economist.
This role will operate on a hybrid bases with working from home capability.
What You'll Do
- Use industry research and analysis to review our investment counterparties and recommend appropriate wholesale credit risk exposure limits, enabling the Treasury dealers to effectively manage our liquidity and hedging strategies.
- Provide analysis and research for the monitoring of wholesale credit risk exposures and the escalation of risk concerns to allow risk mitigation strategies to be implemented in a timely manner to minimise credit default risk.
- Provide high quality, detailed loan-level analysis and reporting in relation to our mortgage-backed investments, helping to enhance and improve the insight provided by the team to enable better risk-based decision making in support of our investment strategies.
- Support with economic research, analysis and commentary, used to aid decision making business wide.
How You’ll Do It
- Previous background and experience in analytical based roles or relevant professional qualifications.
- Extensive skills in data manipulation, for example Microsoft Excel, SAS (or similar statistical packages) or SQL.
- Understanding of financial services industry, markets and competitors, as well as knowledge of retail mortgages.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with autonomy and proactively drive improvements.
- Strong communication, engagement and influencing skills.
- Understanding/ interest in the economy, and how it impacts the Building Society sector.
