Senior Manager Residential Mortgages
We’re looking for a senior leader to take full accountability for the performance of our Residential mortgage business.
This is a general manager style role: responsible for setting direction, making commercial and customer trade offs, and ensuring delivery across the end to end Residential mortgage lifecycle. You will shape where and how we compete in the market, balance growth and sustainability, and ensure strong, fair outcomes for our members.
You’ll be accountable for Residential market participation, product and pricing strategy, customer outcomes, balance sheet performance and operational delivery. While the role works through senior colleagues in Distribution, Credit Risk, Pricing and Operations, accountability for outcomes is clear and sits firmly with this position.
This is a highimpact leadership role for someone who enjoys ownership, judgement and delivery at scale.
About The Role
Running the Residential mortgage business as a complete commercial and customer proposition not just a product set.
Making deliberate choices about where we participate across first time buyers, home movers, remortgage and retention, and where we choose not to.
Balancing growth, margin, capital, risk appetite and Consumer Duty in live decision making.
Translating strategy into execution across a complex, regulated operating environment.
Providing visible senior leadership across the Homes business and externally with key stakeholders.
Key accountabilities
Set and lead the Residential mortgage strategy, including market participation, propositions, pricing and retention.
Own overall performance, including commercial outcomes, customer experience, and sustainable balance sheet returns.
Lead crossfunctional delivery across Distribution, Credit Risk and Operations, ensuring propositions are executed effectively from origination through to servicing.
Embed high standards of governance, risk management and Consumer Duty, ensuring customer outcomes are central to decisions.
Lead, develop and inspire senior leaders, building a highperforming, inclusive and accountable culture.
About you
A senior leader with clear ownership for both commercial and customer outcomes, comfortable carrying end to end accountability.
Deep experience in Residential mortgage lending, with strong understanding of pricing, propositions, distribution and retention.
Proven judgement in balancing growth, risk, regulation and long term value.
A credible leader in regulated environments, confident embedding Consumer Duty into everyday decision making.
An experienced change leader, able to turn strategy into delivery through influence and collaboration.
