YBS is going through a transformation journey and with this, our Risk teams are growing to ensure we can support and protect the Society. We have created some new Lead Manager vacancies in our Prudential Risk team to oversee our Model Risk and this position is one of these new roles.

We are looking for someone to join the team as a Model Risk Oversight Lead Manager to be an SME on Model and EUC Risk Frameworks and Governance for internal stakeholders to Board level, the Society’s Model Risk Committees and externally to the regulator.

About the Role

You will be responsible for leading the program of Model Risk Oversight enhancements to meeting regulatory expectations identified through the SS1/23 gap analysis and roadmap.

As part of this program you will lead on the selection, design and implementation of a new Model Risk Inventory management tool and ensuring that it is embedded and working correctly.

You will lead on the maintenance and embedding of model risk and EUC management frameworks and governance across YBS, ensuring that all activities operate within the Societies risk appetite and comply with our internal policies and regulatory standards.

You will be responsible for leading on the orchestration of the Model Risk Committee and Model Risk Sub Committee, Model Risk Appetite and Model Risk reporting to Board level together with effective planning of model and EUC validation activity and model monitoring activity.

About You

You must have a background within risk management within the banking sector, with a good understanding of modelling approaches and providing governance and oversight over a range of financial models, in particular Retail Credit/IRB, ALM and Finance.

Due to the level of stakeholders you will be working with you must have excellent communication skills and be able to translate technical concepts and facts in to clear and understandable information for colleagues.
