We’re looking for a Financial Crime Data Services Lead Analyst to be the driving force behind our data-driven Transaction Monitoring strategies and rules, within 1st line Financial Crime risk management. This is a high impact role where you’ll lead our delivery of the TM solution strategies through data mining, portfolio analysis, statistical analytics and TM SME. You’ll be our go to TM Solution SME for Prevention & Detection, using data analysis for translation of complex typologies & MO’s into defined rules & controls.

This role will be based in our Bradford based Head Office, with flexible working from home capability.

About the role / what you’ll be doing:

  • Drive continuous improvement in FC Transaction Monitoring solutions and controls
  • FC Transaction Monitoring rules & strategy delivery, evidencing to Risk Appetite, Typologies / MO’s and expected operational volumes
  • Applying model risk management principles where relevant, this role includes the ownerships of the continuous monitoring program for relevant TM technology controls, ensuring they remain effective whilst demonstrating model development and governance
  • Define key data variables for statistical approach, reporting key risks & issues
  • Mentor and support the development of data analysis capabilities within the Team

About you:

  • A proactive mindset with a passion for delivering & controlling data driven solutions
  • Analytical & problem-Solving skills, strong data analysis, investigative, and risk assessment capabilities
  • Excellent knowledge of Transaction Monitoring solutions strategies & rules for Detection & Prevention of Fraud & Financial Crime, whilst balancing customer impacts
  • Utilise best practice statistical, analytical and modelling techniques to perform complex analysis of the Financial Crime Risks, to enable proactive prevention and detection, calibration & optimised tuning of financial crime technologies
  • Experience in using SAS / SQL for analysing complex data sets / large sets of data
  • An understanding of the financial services industry, markets and competitors is a bonus (not essential)
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, compliance, corporate governance and risk management
  • Effective communication, engagement skills and the management of internal and external stakeholder relationships.
