Senior Credit Risk Analyst (Credit Information & Bureau Reporting)- Full time
The Credit Risk team is an integral part of YBS’s Risk Centre of Excellence. We pride ourselves on working collaboratively with our colleagues in teams across the business, including Trading, New Product Development, Finance and Collections & Recoveries to ensure we’re identifying, mitigating and managing conduct and credit risks. This allows us to provide a fantastic experience for our customers and provides sustainable growth and performance for our members. Above all else, the Credit Risk function helps YBS to deliver real help with real lives in a safe and responsible way.
About the Role
As a Senior Credit Risk Analyst you’ll be a key member of our Portfolio & Collections team, leveraging your expertise to strengthen the Society’s approach to credit information reporting, data quality, and customer outcomes. This role is central to ensuring that the information we share with Credit Reference Agencies (CRAs) is accurate, consistent and governed to high standards, supporting fair outcomes and regulatory compliance.
You will work across Credit Risk, Collections, Operations, Data, IT and Compliance, helping the Society deliver its objectives through highquality analysis, improved data governance, and uplifted reporting standards. You’ll also have the opportunity to shape our response to important industry and regulatory changes, including the work of the Credit Information Governance Body (CIGB) and the FCA’s CP26/7 proposals.
Some of the areas you could be responsible for:
- Develop our internal standards for credit information reporting, defining how customer, account and arrears data must be submitted to the CRAs and ensuring this reflects best practice and emerging regulatory requirements.
- Analyse and monitor the quality of our credit information submissions, using data from internal systems and CRA outputs to identify issues, understand root causes, and drive improvements that ensure good outcomes for customers.
- Build an indepth understanding of data flows across the mortgage and collections lifecycle, mapping how information moves from source systems to CRA files, and using this insight to strengthen controls and improve accuracy.
- Produce highquality, insightful analytics that support decisionmaking across Credit Risk and Collections, including MI on data quality, exceptions, disputes/corrections, arrears performance, and customer outcomes.
- Support the Society’s response to regulatory and industry developments, including CIGB implementation, CP26/7 consultation responses, and preparation for future changes to data contributor requirements.
- Work collaboratively across the organisation, providing subjectmatter expertise on credit information, supporting colleagues on projects, change activity and remediation initiatives, and helping embed strong data governance across teams.
- Supporting others. You will use your expert knowledge and experience to support other team members as well as colleagues from across the business.
About You
To suceed in this role you must have direct experience of credit bureau reporting (CRA data contributor side). Alongside this you will have:
- Excellent understanding of batch reporting, data mapping and reconciliations.
- Proven experience working with IT and data teams to resolve data quality issues.
- Background in credit risk, collections or customer performance analytics.
- Expert skills in data manipulation, SAS (or similar statistical packages), SQL and Microsoft Excel.
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends or areas of concern within data.
- Continuous improvement mindset and always looking for ways we can improve our processes.
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to present findings and influence at a senior level

We help our colleagues get the most out of work, and take care of themselves, wherever they’re working.
We offer a range of flexible working options without unsocial hours, which can help you find a healthy work-life balance. Whether it’s finishing early for an appointment or fitting your studies and hobbies in around your working hours, we can help make it work for you. We’re happy to talk flexible working and you can reach out to us anytime during the recruitment process to discuss this.

I joined the Society in 2017, and throughout that time I have worked in several departments, learning and growing along the way. However, it wasn't until April 2022 that I finally discovered my passion, which is recruitment.
In my current role with the Resourcing & Inclusion team, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with many amazing teams across the business. I absolutely love helping hiring managers find their perfect candidates, and it's equally rewarding to assist candidates in landing their dream jobs.
