We are thrilled to announce an incredible opportunity for an Reliability Engineer to join our Change Delivery Savings & Payments Engineering team. You will lead a small team of DevOps Engineers and drive forward improvements in release frequency and service quality, spanning across a wide range of supporting technologies at YBS, including technologies which are internally developed as well as supported by partner resources.
This is a hybrid role with a mix of working from home and some onsite presence in Leeds or Bradford office.
About the role
As Reliability Engineer, you will be focused on multiple systems using a varied set of technologies and the integration between these systems, whilst also supporting the strategic direction for adopting newer technologies. You will -
Be accountable for tracking, identifying and executing continuous improvements in the key measures: lead-time, deployment-frequency, mean-time-to-recover, change-failure-rate and SLO/ error budget
Contribute to the development of business cases for larger change initiatives
Understand supported applications including a high-level architectural view of hand-offs and how each technology works
Line manage, coach, develop and mentor a team of DevOps Engineers
As we move more supporting technology to cloud, you will be passionate about personal development to keep up with a breadth of technologies and aligning with newer ways of working, and working to remove technical debt over time
About you
You’ll have a development or platform engineering background with knowledge of DevOps/ SRE, leadership and technical skills within an IT Support environment. What will you bring to the role?
Experience of configuration management and toolsets, service and performance monitoring
Technical skills in the following:
Continuous Integration/ Continuous Delivery pipelines - tools such as Jenkins & GitLab
Scripting and automation capabilities
Modern monitoring skills and best practices using tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Kibana, DynaTrace
Testing frameworks
Knowledge of networks and routing.
Knowledge of integrations of services utilising different technologies such as PLSQL, .Net, C#, Java, Sprint Boot, Spring Batch
Experience of integrating and supporting 3rd party systems and components
Passion for coaching and developing others
