We are thrilled to announce an incredible opportunity for an Infrastructure Engineer to join our Technology Infrastructure Platform and Networks team. In this role, you'll be part of a team responsible for the day to day support of our critical infrastructure and associated projects providing technical expertise to deliver and maintain compliant and performant infrastructure systems across YBS.
This is a hybrid role; remote working and a small amount of onsite presence in our Bradford office (1 to 2 days per month.) In addition, data centre attendance (Bradford area) is also a requirement as and when required. There is also a requirement for on call and adhoc out of hours working. When on call, you must be within 1 hour of the data centre.
About the role
Provide 2nd and 3rd line support services on a 24/7/365 basis for elements of the associated technology stack across all development, testing and business critical production environments.
Install, configuration, and maintain core hardware infrastructure including physical and virtual servers, VMware ESXi hypervisor and the management tools required to support them.
Maintain system availability, security, and continued vendor support through the delivery of appropriate systems and application patching.
Provide effective incident and problem diagnosis and resolution utilising other internal and external support teams when required, taking ownership where appropriate.
Be an innovator, suggesting and introducing improvements by changes to working processes and driving automation.
Produce and maintain knowledgebase and procedural documentation to high standards.
Take the technical lead on various projects and deputise when needed.
Installation, administration, and support of IT Systems, both virtual and physical including associated Systems Management software to agreed standards.
Configuration, implementation, and maintenance of core hardware infrastructure including servers, storage, SAN switches and all the management tools required to support them.
About you
Essential experience in providing Infrastructure support services in complex business-critical IT environments. The ideal candidate will have experience in some of the below technologies:
Virtualisation technologies VMware ESXi, OLVM, Hyper-V, AWS, OCI
HPE Server Blades & Enclosure Experience
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Support/Installation and Troubleshooting Experience.
Redhat Openshift
Windows Server 2012/2016/2019/2022
Enterprise storage solutions
Scripting and automation tools such as Ansible, Rundeck & PowerShell
IT System performance monitoring/tuning and capacity management
Server hardware support and installation
Enterprise storage solutions
System management and monitoring tools
IT Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery service provision
TCP/IP networking and troubleshooting
Hyperconverged technologies
Software defined architectures
DevOps working practices
Containerised workloads
