Do you have a solid background in Windows Desktop support and 3rd party supplier management? We have an exciting opportunity for Desktop Technology Engineer to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for delivering and supporting a high-quality desktop service across YBS.

Your role will include supporting desktop projects, driving service improvements, and overseeing relationships with third-party IT service delivery partners. You’ll join an inclusive and collaborative team within our Bradford-based Desktop Services function.

This role is central to our ongoing commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and the continuous improvement of our desktop environment.

This is a hybrid role, where you can blend working from home with occasional time in our Bradford office.

About the role

As Desktop Technology Engineer you’ll -

  • Support with the migration to Windows 11 and coordinate a comprehensive hardware refresh for all colleagues

  • Implement modern management solutions and support a transition to Windows 365.

  • Engage with 3rd Parties: be the key point of contact for our external partners, ensuring seamless delivery of our desktop services

  • Resolve Support Tickets: investigate and resolve open Desktop Support tickets efficiently, ensuring we meet our KPI targets and keep our colleagues happy

  • Drive Innovation: champion the adoption and implementation of new services and technologies, aligning with our high standards and procedures

  • Design Excellence: ensure our desktop technology designs are top-notch, meeting current standards and paving the way for future architectural and infrastructure need

About you

  • Good knowledge and experience of working in or with a managed IT service environment, particularly focusing on colleague technologies. Examples include Windows, MacOS, iOS, Android and print devices

  • Strong technical knowledge of current desktop technologies and platforms. Examples include SCCM, Intune, Active Directory, Entra ID and M365

  • Excellent experience of leading change programs to enable continual service improvements

  • Experience of managing internal and external stakeholder relationships
