At YBS, we’re committed to helping our people learn, grow and thrive. Supporting colleagues to build confidence, develop new skills and realise their potential is at the heart of our culture.

We’re now looking for someone who shares that commitment to join the People Solutions Team on a fixed term basis, as a Learning Delivery Specialist.

About the role

You’ll deliver a variety of learning sessions and programmes both in person at our Leeds and Bradford offices, and virtually through Microsoft Teams. You’ll create an environment where learners feel supported, motivated, and confident in applying their new skills, tailoring your approach to different needs and ensuring each session is purposeful and engaging.

Alongside delivery, you’ll manage the daytoday operation of our mentoring platform and our skillsbased assessment tool. This includes maintaining clear and effective communication, driving engagement across the organisation, and helping colleagues make the most of these resources.

Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Facilitating a wide range of leadership development and softskills programmes
  • Adapting your delivery style to suit different audiences and scenarios, using your initiative when plans change
  • Preparing and organising learning sessions to ensure they run smoothly from start to finish
  • Collaborating closely with Learning Solution Designers to ensure our learning content is strategically aligned, highquality, and meets the needs of our colleagues

Please note: This is a hybrid role, requiring attendance in our Leeds or Bradford offices at least once per week.

About you

To thrive in this role, you’ll be a leadership expert with experience delivering leadership development programmes and a range of soft-skills training, both in person and virtually.

You will bring:

  • Confidence using Microsoft Teams for virtual delivery and proficiency with Office 365 in daytoday work
  • A personable, engaging style, with the ability to build strong relationships quickly
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with the confidence to respond to questions and challenges in real time
  • Excellent organisational skills selfmotivated, dependable, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • A genuine curiosity about how people learn and the psychology underpinning effective learning
  • Ability to communicate with and influence stakeholders at all levels..

It would be an advantage (but not essential) if you also have:

  • Experience in designing or cocreating learning content
  • A recognised learning and development qualification

Our Head Office teams are known as Enabling Functions. They're open, innovative, collaborative and always focused on doing what’s right.

And they’re here to support our colleagues by providing a range of high quality, head office services, including risk, HR, finance and marketing. Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

You’ll find people from all walks of life here, with different cultures, beliefs, ages, outlooks and more. And we’re proud of our differences. So we’re dedicated to creating a workplace where everyone feels welcome, supported, and empowered to be their whole self at work.

Our five Colleague Networks play an important role in helping that happen – and have a real impact on our everyday working life here. Each is closely linked to our Inclusion and Diversity committee, and sponsored by a member of our Senior Leadership Team.

And we also have other colleague groups, such as ManKind and Family Foundations, where colleagues can connect, and start conversations that can be taken into the Networks.

Community and Charity

Ever since we started back in 1864, we’ve had a clear purpose – to do some good in our communities through helping people keep their savings safe. And helping everyone have a place to call home. Today, that purpose is still a huge part of who we are. And every one of our colleagues helps that happen.

We’re committed to volunteering our time, resources, skills and knowledge – more than 50% of colleagues contribute to thousands of volunteer hours every year. And our Charitable Foundation has now donated over £9 million to charities and good causes across the country.

Our ways of working and flexibility

We know there’s no single right way of working that fits everyone. That’s why we’re not trying to find one. Instead, we’re doing everything we can to make sure that when we’re working flexibly, together and apart, we’re working at our best. We help our colleagues get the most out of work, and take care of themselves, wherever they’re working.

We offer a range of flexible working options without unsocial hours, which can help you find a healthy work-life balance. Whether it’s finishing early for an appointment or fitting your studies and hobbies in around your working hours, we can help make it work for you. We’re happy to talk flexible working and you can reach out to us anytime during the recruitment process to discuss this.

I recruit for the following business areas: Commercial (excluding digital channels), Internal Audit, People & Risk

I joined the Society in 2017, and throughout that time I have worked in several departments, learning and growing along the way. However, it wasn't until April 2022 that I finally discovered my passion, which is recruitment.

In my current role with the Resourcing & Inclusion team, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with many amazing teams across the business. I absolutely love helping hiring managers find their perfect candidates, and it's equally rewarding to assist candidates in landing their dream jobs.
