YBS is entering the next phase of an ambitious transformation, placing IT Engineering at the heart of delivering value for our members and customers. We’re looking for an experienced IT Delivery Manager/ Technical Project Manager to help drive this change.

You’ll join our newly formed Solutions Delivery - Engineering Team, with responsibility for overseeing delivery across IT Engineering. Your focus will be on maximising value, managing demand, and ensuring clear visibility of progress, risks and capacity.

Working closely with Engineering, Business and Change teams, you’ll provide insight into delivery performance, support BAU services, and ensure work aligns with wider change, audit and regulatory frameworks.

This is a hybrid role with remote working plus one day per week in our Leeds or Bradford offices.

About the role

As IT Delivery Manager, you’ll play a vital role in collaborating with Engineering and Project teams to facilitate effective and timely decision-making. Your efforts will ensure a steady pace of change aligned with the strategic goals, milestones, and ambitions set by senior leaders. Additionally, you will provide continuous insights to these leaders regarding the capacity of our Engineering teams, factoring in both ongoing projects and new demands. You will

  • Lead internal planning and provide planning expertise, drawing on multiple strands of resources and dependencies across both the IT function and incoming dependencies from our strategic and delivery roadmaps

  • Contribute to quarterly/ annual forecasting, supporting the leadership teams in achieving accurate and timely plans

  • Be accountable for ongoing visibility of high-level plans to inform lower-level work force planning, working in conjunction with change & release to provide continuous flow

  • Provide a constant oversight of delivery, understanding the breadth of activities flowing through the teams, ensuring alignment with the wider change management frameworks including dependency, risk and issue management (tracking and escalation), support the inclusion of Audit and Regulatory work

  • Lead a team of IT Delivery Leads providing capability across the Engineering teams and the necessary projects

  • Support the overall cost centre management processes and incoming IT costs from delivery of new or upgraded technology, by ensuring the IT and project budgets have accounted for all aspects of delivery; across people/infrastructure/services

  • Track capacity of the Engineering teams and overarching skills view, working with IT Engineering Leads to influence the future skills of the teams and support training and recruitment, facilitating realignment of resources to demand (skills/ resource planning)

  • Act as a central communication hub - sharing updates on team performance, project timelines, and key milestones. Disseminate these insights broadly to service stakeholders, including Transformation Leads and Directors/ Sponsors responsible for change initiatives

About you

You’ll have previous technical/ IT project/ change management experience within both an Agile and Waterfall delivery team with the ability to influence and challenge constructively. In addition, you’ll be able to demonstrate

  • Experience of delivering complex change across people, process, and technology change via a range of methodologies including Waterfall and Agile

  • Knowledge and understanding of Information Technology with a strong external perspective of developments in Technology and Innovation including, but not limited to, digitalisation, cloud technologies, APIs, data management, automation

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to produce and translate technical information for a broad range of stakeholders

  • Experience of managing budgets and resources

  • Ability to work with autonomy and make operational decisions, converting strategic priorities and goals into operational plans

  • Excellent business relationship, stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills

  • Experience in developing and facilitating workshops with multi-disciplined teams
