We are thrilled to announce an incredible opportunity to join our Financial Modelling team as a Financial Modelling Analyst. In this role, you’ll support the development, testing and ongoing management of our Asset and Liability Management (ALM) model suite, as well as contribute to the growing importance of appropriately governing these models.

This is an exciting time to join the team, as the Society embarks on an ambitious growth plan, Financial Modelling will be at the heart of enabling that growth through transforming the Finance modelling landscape.

This is a hybrid role with a minimum of one day per week of onsite presence in our central Leeds office.

About the Role

As Financial Modelling Analyst, you will support the design, testing and maintenance of our models which are used for market and liquidity risk monitoring. You’ll

  • Design, develop and deliver new models or model redevelopments to support the Society

  • Ensure robust controls and comprehensive documentation exists and meet all internal policies and standards

  • Work with model users and stakeholders to support appropriate model use and understanding of controls

  • Work closely with other teams within Treasury and maintain engagement, which is an important aspect of the role

About you

What will you bring to the role?

  • Coding experience (SQL and Python)

  • Knowledge of Excel, including VBA

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to explain models and calculations in a clear and concise way, alongside building and nurturing relationships with a variety of stakeholders

  • Good knowledge of cash flows, mortgages and the finance processes within a building society or bank, and how these can be modelled
