Help shape how change risk is understood, managed and controlled within Yorkshire Building Society. This is a high-impact role combining portfolio risk leadership, assurance activity and hands-on engagement with delivery teams, offering strong visibility across senior governance forums and executive stakeholders. You’ll be at the heart of change delivery, ensuring risks are identified early, managed effectively and translated into clear, decision-useful insight.

About the role

The Change Risk Lead is accountable for embedding the enterprise change risk management framework across the portfolio, ensuring change-related risks, controls and operational impacts are consistently identified, managed and escalated in line with governance and risk appetite expectations.

  • Lead the adoption and application of the enterprise change risk management framework across portfolios and projects, ensuring consistent standards, effective risk management practices and high-quality risk information across the change lifecycle.
  • Own the portfolio view of change delivery risk, coordinating portfolio-level risks, mitigations and control actions while providing clear, aggregated risk reporting and insight to senior stakeholders and governance forums.
  • Partner with Delivery, Governance, Risk and Audit teams to drive assurance activity, RCSA delivery, control readiness and continuous improvement in change risk management maturity across the organisation.

About you

You are an experienced change risk professional with the ability to combine practical delivery understanding with robust risk management expertise, operating confidently across both delivery and risk communities within a regulated environment.

  • Significant experience managing change delivery risk across complex portfolios, including ownership of portfolio-level risk views, risk frameworks and governance reporting that support executive decision-making.
  • Strong technical capability across enterprise risk management, assurance, control design and risk reporting, with the ability to translate complex risks, trends and interdependencies into clear and actionable insight.
  • Proven ability to influence and challenge delivery teams, business leaders, risk functions and audit stakeholders, driving stronger risk management practices and continuous improvement within a regulated financial services environment.

Community and Charity

Ever since we started back in 1864, we’ve had a clear purpose – to do some good in our communities through helping people keep their savings safe. And helping everyone have a place to call home. Today, that purpose is still a huge part of who we are. And every one of our colleagues helps that happen.

We’re committed to volunteering our time, resources, skills and knowledge – more than 50% of colleagues contribute to thousands of volunteer hours every year. And our Charitable Foundation has now donated over £9 million to charities and good causes across the country.
