Your physical wellbeing

Staying physically healthy is a great way to boost your energy and focus. Scroll down for simple ways to stay active, eat well, sleep better, protect yourself from illness and get support when you need it.
  1. Eat well and stay hydrated

Fuelling your body with the right food and plenty of water helps you stay sharp and feel your best.

Fuelling your body with the right food and plenty of water helps you stay sharp and feel your best.

    • What you eat and drink directly affects your mood, focus and energy levels. Aim for balance where possible and try to drink 1.5 to 2 litres of water a day, around 3–4 pints. Hydration also comes from foods like soups, fruits and vegetables.

For more nutrition and hydration tips head to the Bupa website.

  2. Keep moving

Regular physical activity can reduce stress and help you feel energised during redeployment.

    • Physical activity is a powerful way to manage stress and lift your mood. Aim for at least 20–30 minutes of moderate activity a day, such as walking, running or stretching. Getting outside can also help you feel more grounded.

You can find local walking routes on the Ramblers website and explore ways to stay active on Bupa’s online resources.

  3. Sit comfortably

Taking care of your social wellbeing

Feeling connected and supported can really help during redeployment.

Click through for ways to strengthen relationships, stay involved at work, and reach out when you need to.

Build positive relationships

Strong connections with others help improve your confidence and resilience.

Meaningful relationships boost self-worth and support better overall health. Try to prioritise time with people who uplift you, whether that’s friends, family or colleagues.

  • Put away distractions and have real conversations.
  • Join local clubs or classes such as cooking, tai chi or choir.
  • Check the intranet for internal events and activities that bring people together.
Strengthen your connections at work

Simple actions can help you stay connected to colleagues.

Making time for social interaction at work can help you and your team stay motivated. Here are some ideas to try:

  • Team walk and talk – catch up while getting fresh air.
  • Fuddle or shared lunch – share food and conversation.
  • Gossip coaching – structured discussions to learn from each other and solve problems.

You can also explore LinkedIn Learning for a course on developing friendships and meaningful connections at work.

Join a colleague network

Networks at YBS provide support and a sense of belonging.

YBS has a range of colleague networks that provide space to celebrate differences and connect with others who share similar experiences.
